Birgir Thor Møller, independent project manager, film curator, scholar and writer.

MA in film studies (2004) from the Department of Media, Cognition and Communication, The Section of Film and Media Studies, University of Copenhagen.


Born (1970) in Iceland, Møller moved to Denmark in 1983. He has published essayes and
articles, especially on Icelandic film and film history, in a variety of venues, including ”In and Out of Reykjavik: Framing Iceland in the Global Daze”, in (ed. T. Elkington and A. Nestingen): Transnational Cinema in a Global North: Nordic Cinema in Transition.  And currently he is, among other things, completing a book on the history of Icelandic national cinema (cf. Publications).

”Cold Light: Icelandic Cinema 1980-2005" [Koldt lys – islandsk film 1980-2005], in Copenhagen and Århus, Denmark. Arranged in cooperation with the Danish Film Institute/Cinematheque, Øst for Paradis and the Icelandic Film Centre among others, celebrating the 25th anniversiry of Icelands first film premiere after the creation of the Icelandic Film Fund, when domestic film production can be said to begin in earnest.
